Leukemia : Philhealth Z package for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL)

When my daughter was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia), I didn't know what to feel nor what to do. For me it's all mixed up, sadness, confusion, worried; all at the same time. Sadness, because she's sick. Confused, because from where she get it, and worried because there was no budget left for an extensive hospitalization.

Instead of crying all day for something happens, I searched for charity or anything that can help us. Then I knew about Philhealth's Z package for those who has Leukemia but unfortunately, my daughter is not eligible anymore because of the age.

So, I want to share with you this, very few are those who knows about it. I hope it help your child fight Leukemia like how my little brave kid fight hers.

This Z pacakge for Acute Lymphocyctic Leukemia is under PhilHealth Circular No. 2017 – 0016.

Your child is entiled if:

1. Your child is 1- 10 years old.
2. Bone marrow aspirate morphology ALL FAB L1 or L2
3. No involvement of the CNS (brain)
4. If male, No testicular involvement
5. CBC WBC count <50,000/L or <50,000 cells/L or <50 x 103 /L or <50 x 109 /L
6. CSF cell count white blood cell (WBC) not more than 5 x 106 /L

The rest will be explained with by the doctor once you are entitled. If not, you can still use your Philhealth as your child is under your dependency. It really helped us with reducing the bills for at least 9,000 to 11,000. and the most important thing advised by the Philhealth when I updated mine is to pay the contribution regularly so you'll be entitled for its benefits.

"He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave."
